Video factories post production services include colour correction, tbc, editing, titling, music and voice overs.

Skip the blue paragraphs if you understand the term!

Post production is all the processing that takes place after all the raw video ('the rushes') for a project has been shot to produce the final video.

It may simply be selecting the scenes, assembling them in the right order and leaving out everything which doesn't add to the final programme ('editing'). This is usually an essential process for every video.

The editing may involve processing the audio and/or video signal to correct errors or add special effects - particularly as a 'transition' between scenes.

Most post production includes adding titles (certainly at the front, probably at the end, also - maybe at places during the programme). Titles will include simply words or, more complexly, adding a mixture of graphics - either photographs or visual material.

Then there's the sound (most inexperienced people forget how important sound is to the final programme). This may be a 'music bed' and / or a 'voice-over' which helps to explain what the viewer can see, or may be a narrative.

Experts start here:

We offer very comprehensive post-production facilities to finalised video in virtually every format from amateur to broadcast.

We have traditional, conventional editing equipment but whenever possible, we offer non-linear computer editing.

We are able to add time base correction on the video and compressor/limiting to audio - in fact we are experts at getting the best from poor quality or 'problem' original material.

Naturally we don't stop there. When you have your final master, we can duplicate, convert to other world tv standards - and even design and print your labels and video box sleeves - see the relevant pages on this site.

Titling.

An important aspect of video production. The titles set the tone and quality of what follows - often subconsciously.

We can provide a very comprehensive titling service - as stand-alone or super-imposed over pictures - and still or moving up the screen (rolling) or across the screen (crawling). Naturally the titles can be in any colours and any true-type fonts at many sizes.

Music.

As with titles, music is important. You may have a favourite piece of music to go with your video - we can put it on for you - but remember, we would have to arrange for you to pay royalties.

If you don't have any piece in mind we can help you in two ways:

  1. First, we have a large collection of CD tracks especially for video production (and still you have those royalties to pay!). If you couldn't find what you want on our shelves we'd be surprised but…

  2. Second, we know a couple of composers who may be able to help (at a price!)

Voice Overs.

Getting the 'right voice' for your intended audience is a must. We can supply a wide range of voices, male and female, in most languages.

We recommend that you do not cut corners and prices by doing your own voice-over. It's a skill that takes a while to learn and do well and, with respect, you probably sound awful.
