Let's start by exploring the myth: a corporate video doesn't have to be expensive. Yes, a good rule of the thumb is £600-£800 a minute - but it could be a lot less - or a lot more if you want some Baywatch Babe in it.
Here are some tips to help you consider what you might need:
Above all, what is the video meant to achieve? Who is it aimed at? Be very sure about this - your video is unlikely to achieve more than one aim!
Make three lists:
- What MUST be in it
- What SHOULD be in it - if possible
- What COULD be in it - if time allows.
Which brings us to length. Most inexperienced companies think far too long. It comes back to the intended objective.
- A sales video should only last five minutes absolute maximum…
- A training video could last three hours - but should have breaks every 10-15 minutes.
- A staff induction video can probably tell the story of your organisation in ten minutes.
